China : Chinese New Year

I'm not busy when it is Chinese new year since I started to work a company based in Hong Kong 2015.

While Chinese new year, almost all people in China main land, Hong Kong and Taiwan are on leave. So we outside of those country can't proceed any business cases.

Chinese new year happens different days every year because it depends on the lunar calendar. Mostly it happens during from latter January to early February.

In Japan, Japanese people don't have a vacation on this term. But many Chinese people come to Japan and spend their vacation in Japan recently.  While they are staying in Japan Chinese people especially love to go shopping and buying many things that they can't store their own luggage. That shopping activity is so called "Baku-Gai" which literally means buying explosion. But you can understand it as "binge shopping" or "shopping spree".

However people in merchandise welcome this occasion very much, most of Japanese people are disgusting of mercenary action. But remember Japanese were used to do the same things in 1980s to 1990s. When Japan was prosperity Japanese people were going to Europe and US and buy expensive things there.

I think that "Baku-Gai" shows that the Chinese are now in good time.
